Trees & Shrubs

All of the Trees & Shrubs at Chater Valley Trees are pot or container grown, this ensures that when planted out they have a root system that will give them the maximum chance of strong establishment. We advise that the sooner the plant can be planted into its final growing location the better, as the younger it is the less initial growing stresses are put on it. Planting at the right time of year and in the right conditions are essential, as are correct protection and management techniques. Smaller trees with full root systems planted late autumn to early spring will establish better than bare root trees and will require less maintenance and watering in first season drought conditions leading to stronger more resilient trees.
